Ahh, the SEGA Dreamcast, the little console that still has a warm spot in your heart 10 years after its release. There are so many great games for this console its hard to think which ones to buy (this is important because the economy is officially in the crapper). So here’s me to the rescue with my *deep voice*… my Top Ten Must Have Games For The Dreamcast.
#10 – Rez

Rez is one of the more rare titles on the Dreamcast and is highly sort after by fans of the console. Basically Rez is a shooter game but it has a nice little twist to it. The game is set in a computer super network called the K-project and is powered by an AI called Eden. Eden is overwhelmed with the data she collects so everything goes downhill and she starts to shut her self down (A bit like Windows ME, isn’t it?). You play a low-life hacker who spends too much time on the computer, trying to destroy all the firewalls and reboot Eden.
#9 – Soul Calibur

We all love fighting games don’t we? OK, maybe not all of us but this is a must buy game for any Dreamcast owner who has the urge to kick the crap out of anything that moves or breathes. Even though this game wasn’t originally on the Dreamcast, it was the port of the game which made the game Soul Calibur a hit with gamers across the globe. With fun gameplay and great graphics you are sure to get hooked.
#8 – Phantasy Star Online

So what if the Dreamcast doesn’t have Final Fantasy? Instead, SEGA had something better, a game that combines two of everyone’s favorite games (Final Fantasy and World of Warcraft) together to make one hell of an action packed RPG. Phantasy Star Online features tons of different modes, characters and challenges but also has an online mode too. The thing about this game is the fact it was made by the same people who made Sonic the Hedgehog and Samba De Amigo, they must of got bored of making games about animals on drugs.
#7 – Crazy Taxi

Yeah, I know what your thinking. “How can a game about being a taxi driver be fun?’
Well this isn’t no rubbish, boring game about driving a taxi around a dull town, this is Crazy Taxi, a game about a bunch of crazy cab drivers who don’t care how many people and cars they run into as long as they get their customers to the place they want to go on time. The game is really fun to play and it has a nice soundtrack on board with music from Bad Religion and The Offspring. The graphics and whole look of the game is brilliant, even with all the ads for KFC and Pizza Hut (Hey, business is business!) I totally recommend this to any driving game fans any day.
#6 – ChuChu Rocket!

OK this game is kinda nuts… ChuChu Rocket! It was made by Sonic Team after each member of staff ate nine different types of rainbow colored pills and watched Tom & Jerry for an hour. The game involves four rockets, one of which is yours, loads of mice called ChuChu’s and evil space cats called KapuKapu’s (you pronounce that catpoo catpoos by the way, no I’m not kidding you). You have to lead the ChuChus into your rocket and keep the KapuKapus away from your rocket, sounds pretty easy but its not.

Awesome list Kelly. The Dreamcast is one of my favourite consoles of all time. In fact I dug my faithful Sega out again today. I remember getting Soul Calibur with my console and how the graphics blew me away. Voldo still makes me slightly uncomfortable.
I agree with Dan, am looking forward to see where Sonic Adventure and Jet Set Radio come in.
